The most famous and emblematic Cuban orchestra, Los Van Van, returned to the island to commemorate the 45 years of artistic life with an international tour. This presentation will be a show of ball to be held on Saturday 22 August from 20:30 at the Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Rico.
Their 45-year anniversary Tour begins on 7 August in Washington DC and continues in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Denver, San Juan and Miami in Florida and other cities.
According to a press release, along with Los Van Van, will also be attended by other orchestras to make it even more important to this event.
Founded in 1969 by Juan Formell, Los Van Van orchestra continues to dominate the dance music shows as one of the most famous interpreters of contemporary afro-Caribbean music.
Formell managed to unite classical instrumentation charanga orchestra, emphasizing the flute and violin along with other North American elements like electric guitar and drums. Coined the term "songo" to identify a new sound, with the merger of the traditional Cuban son, Brazilian Bossa Nova and American pop and rock along with other musical styles.
After the recent death of maestro Juan Formell, her legacy is passed up the son Samuel Formell, he definitely follows in the footsteps of his father, as he did in the last few years as Music Director of the orchestra. On this tour Samuel presents the musical production, entitled La Fantasía, which the master has made a strong contribution before he died.
