A very personal and filled with various influences, is the result of the presentation of Arturo O'Farrill and his Afro Latin Jazz Orquestra, devoting its special concert to Luciano Pozo (Chano), one of the most prominent drummers of Cuba.

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of this defender of Afro-Cu[1]ban jazz and son montuno, the pianist and composer of Mexican descent and the son of a distinguished Cuban trumpeter Chico O'Farrill, performed for several contemporary pieces, during the 19th Festival Internacional Cubadisco 2015.

The international award for this year's contest O'Farrill, with The Offense of the Drum, he shared the stage with several Cuban musicians like Adel Yasek Manzano, Pancho Gonzáles, Alexis Bosch, Terry and choir of the Cuban Institute of Radio and television.

"We're giving continuity to the seed planted by my father with Chano Pozo, and celebrating its heritage, with the intention of combining the Cuban music and American," he said during a meeting that took place at Teatro Mella of this capital.

With songs 12:00 am en la vida de un perro and Intruder, the pianist reminded us of the value of these musics, assuring us that without Cuba there is jazz in the world.

During the show, Jorge Gόmez, President of the jury of the award Cubadisco, crowned O'Farrill, and said the song with this distinction becomes even more important.

The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is considered one of the most prestigious North American orchestras, known for her interpretive skills, the flexibility of their styles and the ability of its instrumentalists are truly extraordinary.
